Finally getting there...
After a marathon video edit yesterday and a 5am start today to get the soundscape in place, I finally have a rough cut with sound.

Frustration
All i seem to be doing the last two days is sitting around waiting for the final cut project from the editor, so i can finish the video and then eventually arrange the soundscape. It's not like i can even do any editing till i get the project as the editor also has all the DV tapes so i have no footage, all i can do is prepare some soundscape pieces in advance and cut the video to that. i would've preferred to work the opposite with a final video to do sound for but with deadlines looming i've not got much choice but to get stuff done rather than wait around.

Installation possibilities...
A friend told me about a gallery, NO:ID, that are often interested in sound art pieces, so i've contacted them asking if there is a possibility of displaying my work at some point in the near future.
Spoken Word
To add another dimension to the piece i decided to get someone to write a spokenword piece to add into the soundscape.
This is the piece that he wrote...
Urban Decay by David Bennett
The tarmacky blackness runs far and runs deep,
And free from oppression and precious up-keep.
Ignored and disguarded, left lonely to rot,
Those building where vibrance once dwelled on their plot.
An unearthly presence looms hollow and lifeless,
Ghosts made of memories reside there with mices.
Sunlight drips in through cracks in the structure,
And musters the courage to sit there in clusters.
The lobbys grow brambles and join with the gardens,
The outside is inside, the roof's on the carpet,
Walls with smashed windows, where doors used to squeek,
Join roof parts on the carpet in fragmented heaps.
The view gets no better from further away,
Eye-sores on sky-lines, worthless and grey.
In need of a make over, superflouse to say,
Just under the surface is urban decay. *END*

I then contacted John Moraitis, a professional voiceover artist, who agreed to record the piece for me. Check the player below for audio.

Video Editing
After an eventful and very busy Rave On Air industry day working on the radio station, I can now get back to the project. fortunately every cloud has a silver lining and this one allowed me to meet a load of people round uni who are wanting to help cut the video for my project, which will save me a load of time and will look loads better than my amateur attempts. So keep checking back this week and should be plenty of action to be seen to make up for the stagnant few weeks.
Website
The website is looking amazing, thanks to Will Hutchinson. Should be live in a couple of weeks once I've sorted out the domain and we've added the remaining content.
